Location


The Programa de Ensino de Línguas (PROELI) is located at the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (UFRA), Tomé-Açu campus, 198 km from the capital Bélem, in the State of Pará, Brazil.



Tomé-Açu

It is a small and cozy city. It is located in the northeast region of the State of Pará, in the north of Brazil, at 45 meters of sea level. The city has about 61,095 inhabitants distributed in 5,145,325 km² of territorial extension.

The Japanese people has come to Tomé-Açu since World War II, in the district of Quatro Bocas, at 12 km from Tomé-Açu. Nowadays, the Japanese colony is third largest in Brazil.

The economy of Tomé-Açu is based on agriculture, focusing on cacao, cupuaçu, pepper, pitaya, among other crops of the genus and, more recently, on cattle production.

Between June and August, the municipality is in celebration, whose main attractiveness is the Agribusiness Fair of the Valley of Acará (AVA), with the objective of updating the small, medium and large producers of the novelties in the market, with the Exhibition of machinery, agricultural products, animals, among others. Still, artistic presentations happen in the event.
